Admissions from Reception to Year 6
Hertfordshire County Council deals with admissions for all children from Reception to Year 6. If you would like to apply to our school, you can find more information on the Hertfordshire County Council Website.
Applications can be made on line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions
Alternatively you can ask for a paper application form from the Admissions and Transport team at Hertfordshire County Council and return it to them.
Highwood Primary Nursery Admissions September 2025
We are delighted that you are considering Highwood Primary school for your child.
We are passionate about Early Years Education and work hard to provide a safe and stimulating environment for our children to play and learn, building excellent relationships with parents.
We have one intake in September each year and places are allocated according to the schools’ admission criteria (see link to Admissions Policy below).
Applications to nursery for September 2025 are welcomed for children whose birth date falls within the range: 01/09/2021 to 31/08/2022.
Children must attend either five mornings, five afternoons or five full days a week.
Session choices are:
| 30-hour funded. Sessions run from 8:45am until 3:15pm. There is a ½ hour lunch supervision charge of £3.00 a day. To check if eligible for 30 hour funding details can be found using the following link: https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare. Please note that it is the responsibility of parents to check their eligibility and provide us the code in order to be considered for a 30-hour place. The deadline for applying for the 30-hour code is 31st August 2025. Eligibility is reviewed termly and should a child fall out of eligibility during any term, fees will become payable. |
| 30-hour private. Sessions run from 8:45am until 3:15pm. The sessions are charged at £21 per day (which includes the half hour lunch supervision charge of £3) because the morning session is funded by the government. |

| 5 afternoons – sessions run from 12:15pm until 3:15pm |
